What's the difference between a standard and multimedia account?

The Multimedia account for Windows backs up the following multimedia files (while the standard account does not back up these files):

  • AVI, AVS, MOV, MOVIE, MOOV, MPEG, MPG, QT, QTM, SCM, M4V, MP4, WMV
  • AA, AIF, AIFF, IFO, CDA, MID, MPE, MUS, MP1, MP2, MP3, M4A, M4P, RA, RAM, WAV, WMA

The Multimedia account for Mac backs up the following multimedia files (while the standard account does not back up these files):

  • AA, AIF, AIFF, IFO, CDA, MID, MPE, MUS, MP1, MP2, MP3, M4A, M4P, RA, RAM, WAV, WMA
  • AVI, AVS, DV, MOOV, MOV, MOVIE, MPEG, MPG, QT, QTM, SCM, M4V, MP4, WMV


How do you get a multimedia account?

If you have multimedia files that must be backed up, please have your TC or department administrator use the Connected Backup account request form in ITService Center.
