Working with Contacts in Entourage Web Services

important

Entourage 2008 — Web Services edition is the only version of Entourage supported by ITS for use in the Exchange environment. However it is not recommended. ITS strongly recommends that Entourage users upgrade to Office 2011 and use Outlook for Macintosh.

Entourage 2008 currently comes installed on BCCR computers but it is NOT the Web Services Edition. You will need to upgrade. To learn about upgrading to the Web Services Edition, please contact your TC (Technology Consultant).

Entourage 2008 Web Services Edition allows you to store personal, non-BC addresses in your Contacts. Examples of whom you might put in your Contacts include vendors, contractors, and colleagues at other institutions. You should never store @bc.edu email addresses in your Contacts since this will conflict with the Global Address List where BC addresses are stored and disable Exchange-specific features for messages you address to that member of the BC community.

To create a new contact:

1. Access your Contacts by clicking the Address Book button in the toolbar (see Figure 1).

2. Click the New button to create a new address card for that person (see Figure 2).
