Writing and Sending Email

Sending email from Apple Mail works very similarly to other email programs you have used. To send messages from Mail:

  1. With your email displayed, click New Message in the toolbar.
  2. In the To: field type the email address of the recipients. If you are sending to someone at Boston College, you only need to type their name (Learn more about this in the next section). When Mail recognizes a name or address you type from your Address Book, the recipient will appear in a blue bubble as shown below. Separate multiple addresses or names using commas, as shown below.

  3. If you need to send a copy to one or more people, enter their names in the Cc: field the same way you would in the To: field.
  4. Enter a subject for your message in the Subject line.

  5. Type your message in the message body box.

  6. Click Send.

By default, the Bcc: field is hidden. You can show the Bcc: field by choosing Bcc Address Field from the menu to left of the Subject line.
