Importing an LDIF file into Apple Address Book

Note: we recommend you have installed at least OS 10.2.3 and Mail 1.2.3

  1. Open Apple Mail.
  2. Open the new email message from "Webserver" whose subject line is "Your filename.ldif file."
The name you gave your file appears instead of "filename." This email contains your .ldif file as an attachment.
  3. Save the attachment to your desktop.
  4. Open your Address Book
  5. While in the Group "All" view, from the File menu, point to Import, then click LDIF.
  6. Select the ldif file you saved to your desktop and click Open.
Apple Mail now imports the addresses from the .ldif file into your address book.
