We are excited to present Grads Give Back, the annual day of service for BC graduate students. More than 80 students who registered for Grads Give Back 2013, and we cannot wait to see the impact that 2014's volunteers will make in the community. Grads Give Back is an annual event, co-sponsored by the Office of Graduate Student Life, Graduate Student Association (GSA), and Law Student Association (LSA), which aims to engage BC graduate and professional students in our local community.

Do I get to select the site at which I'm volunteering? Yes, you get to select which of our service sites you want to spend time with for Grads Give Back! You can see in our chart of placement sites below that we offer volunteer opportunities at various times throughout the weekend. On the registration form you will have the opportunity to select the placement site you prefer based on your own interests and time availability. Note, however, that some sites are limited to a specific number of students. We recommend that you register early in order to sign up for a site you prefer.
Do I need to have a car in order to get to sites? No you don't! As long as you can get to the Murray Graduate Student Center, we will help you get transportation to your placement site. The larger sites will have a bus or van provided, but for some we will ask students who have cars to volunteer to drive. If you yourself have a car and are willing to drive others, please indicate that on your registration form.
What does the day look like? We ask volunteers to arrive to the Murray House about an hour before their site start time on the morning of Grads Give Back (note that if it's easier for you based on transportation and site location, you can arrange to go straight to your service site in the morning). At the Murray House you will sign in with us, receive a tshirt, enjoy a complimentary breakfast with fellow volunteers so that you get to know the other grad students going to your site with you, and pack up some snacks that we'll give you to bring along to your site. Groups then head out together to service sites. Transportation will be provided back to the Murray House. More information about an optional Saturday night social for us to thank our volunteers is TBA!
Can I attend with a group? If you are the leader of a student organization and would like your members to be assigned to a specific site, please contact an event chair via GradsGiveBack.BC@gmail.com in order to make arrangements. If you are not the leader of a specific group but would like to attend the event with friends, make sure your friends select the same site as preferences on their registration forms!
