The Greater Boston Food Bank - Volunteer Opportunity
Sponsored by the Office of Graduate Student Life and the GSA
Saturday, March 31st, 2012 – 1:00pm-3:30pm
Join us in helping to end hunger in eastern Massachusetts! The Greater Boston Food Bank (GBFB) is the largest hunger-relief organization in New England and among the largest food banks in the country. GBFB works to acquire, store, organize and distribute food through local food pantries, community meal programs, homeless and residential shelters, youth programs, senior centers, and day-care centers embedded in communities throughout the nine counties of eastern Massachusetts.
Come volunteer with a community of graduate students from across programs and disciplines to learn about the issues and support hunger-relief. Volunteers work together as a team on an assembly line to inspect, sort and repack donated grocery products that are then distributed to various agencies.
Spaces are limited: To RSVP, please email gsc@bc.edu with your name, phone number, and school
