Meet Our Senior Leads!
Kayla is a senior International Studies major from Freehold, NJ. She loves art, photography, and poetry, and would spend all of her time outdoors if she could. Kayla enjoys traveling and studied abroad last year in Morocco. Even though she would love to move to a random city and work at a coffee shop/bookstore after graduation, she is more realistically going to pursue a career in urban education.
Elizabeth, born and raised in Augusta, Georgia, is a sociology major and an African and African Diaspora Studies minor who is currently researching the link between Southern food traditions and the evolution of gender roles. She is an avid coffee connoisseur, hip hop lover, and semi-regular mod chef. She loves mod tailgates with old soul music, the work of James Baldwin, and long walks around the Res.
Janeisa is an ambitious senior born and raised in Boston, MA, and double majoring in English and Communications. She loves to write, travel, sing as if she were a star; and most of all enjoys being the Senior Headmaster of BC’s all female step team, F.I.S.T.S. After graduation she hopes to pursue a career in Development.
Kiley is an Applied Psychology and Human Development major hailing from Medford, MA. She’s currently having love affairs with coffee, crossword puzzle apps on her phone, and HBO’s “Girls.” When not Googling scenic pictures of Ireland, she can be found practicing Whitney Houston Karaoke in Rubenstein.
Noora is the three colors where spirit, culture, and delicious food meet. As a Communications major and avid baker, she hopes to open her own bakery in the future. For now, she can be found giving tours and answering to calls of “Little Noors” on campus.
Michaela, almost RN, is from Connecticut, but is at home in Boston surrounded by her large, loud, Irish-Catholic family. She starts each day with a desire for cookies and good conversation. While she never wants to leave BC, she is looking forward to pursuing a career playing with and taking care of children. Michaela is amped about leading Asend and getting to know some ladies from the Class of 2016!
Becca is a poli sci major from Anchorage, Alaska. She is a Junior Fellow with the Clough Center. After meeting Father Neenan just once, Becca was informed that she has been made President of the Salmon Club, a group for students from the Pacific-Northwest. After graduation, shehopes to work in government or politics, or run away to Brazil to learn Portuguese. While she does not live in an igloo or have a pet polar bear, she is happy to talk about Alaska.
Michelle is a double major in French and Hispanic Studies with a minor in General Education. She was born and raised on the small island of Puerto Rico, where she enjoys going to the beach, playing with her three German Shepherds and spending time with her family. Michelle was just abroad last semester in Paris, France and loves to travel!
Savannah is a native Mainer turned Bostonian. She is a lover of chemistry, Thai food, pugs, and Survivor the TV show. She is a hopeful doctor with dreams of becoming a surgeon and returning home to the coast of Maine.
Kayla is a senior from Boston, MA studying philosophy and general education. She's passionate about social justice, traveling, and immersing into new communities. She might be found talking about her unique experiences in Uganda, Rwanda, Morocco, Italy, Spain, and Portugal. Kayla enjoys Hillside breakfast dates, laughing, hiking, watching plays/movies, and exploring the greatness of cities like Boston!
Kaitlyn is a senior History major from Suffern, NY. Kaitlyn is the eighth member of her family to attend BC, and loves everything about the Heights. When not competing for an intramural championship, Kaitlyn enjoys attending football games, Hillside coffee, watching Revenge, and reminiscing on the memories of living on Kostka 1. Kaitlyn is extremely excited to lead Ascend!
Elizabeth is a senior nursing major from Tenafly, New Jersey. Liz is a member of the women’s water polo team, loves hiking, east Africa, the New York Times, and really nice scones. Liz wants to pursue a career in international public health after graduation… And hike Mt. Everest.
Emma is a history major and women and gender studies’ minor from Marblehead, MA. She has worked at the Women’s Resource Center for the past three years and also has a passion for music, (she was even in a punk rock band in high school as an electric cellist)! She loves meeting new people and is excited to get to know the Ascend community this year.
Corinne is a Psychology B.S. major and pre-med student from Orange, CT. She is an expert mail distributer in both the McElroy and Voute mailrooms. Aside from the mailroom, Cori enjoys being a member of Best Buddies, going to football games, hitting up the plex, and hanging out with friends. She is excited to be an Ascend leader and get the chance to meet so many amazing girls at BC!
