Facilities Work Request Changes Made in Agora
On Monday, October 10th, the Facilities Work Request screen was given a new look and improved communication through an upgrade in our computerized maintenance management software, Maximo, from version 5.2 to 7.5.
Behind the scenes, the work order staff and the service providers now have a much more robust application. The improvements made will allow us to schedule work more efficiently and monitor our effectiveness more accurately. Our goal is to improve the user experience through increased communication, improved response time and a more efficient delivery of services.
What’s New?
Agora Portal Changes
Continue to use the Agora portal to enter work requests. We have added a page to differentiate between various University services to get you headed in the right direction.
The most significant changes are described below:
"Phone" – We realize that there are many times that you would prefer to use a mobile phone number, instead of your on-campus extension. So, we now ask you to give us your preferred phone number, in the event that we need to contact you.
“On Behalf Of” – If you are inputting a work order for someone else, you can now input that person’s name in this field. This will give us another point of contact, and will help us in the delivery of service.
“Select Floor” – Shortens the room list for you, to be able to select the correct room.
“Problem Area” – These dropdowns will automatically generate a work order description for you, and populate many other fields, based on your selection. You can still input any additional details that would assist us, in the Additional Details box.
Communication Enhancements
Email notifications will now be generated upon receipt, assignment, and completion of your work order! We feel that this is a significant communication improvement between you and the Facilities department.
