Consulting Services & Customized Programs

boston college employee development

Sometimes managers seek assistance in dealing with employee performance issues. Whether the question is focused on individual or group performance challenges, consultation can offer significant help.

If your department, team, or work group has a specific professional development or performance need, we can work with you to assess that need and help you meet your organizational goals.

The consultation process begins with basic questions to help the you define the issue,  identify the performance change needed, clarify goals, and explore desired outcomes. Your answers will determine a course of action tailored to meet your need. Some examples of department requests are:

Planning staff retreats
Facilitating focus groups
Building staff morale
Coaching
Improving an employee’s job performance problem

A consultation may lead to developing a customized program, which allows work groups to:

  • focus on a specific skill area, topic, or issue
  • meet at a convenient time, place, and location
  • problem-solve and work toward common goals

As appropriate, we collaborate with other Human Resources Department units. In some cases, external training consultants may also be used. Some of our more frequent requests for customized programs are:

Coping with change
Improving job performance
Customer service
Team building
Managing stress
Interpersonal communication skills
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
