Consulting & Customized Programs

Consultation Services
Employee Development staff, with other staff in Human Resources, work with departments or employee groups to help them meet their organizational goals. While the outcome of the consultation will depend on the situation, all requests require an initial assessment to define the need, clarify goals, and select appropriate action. Some examples of departmental requests include:
- Planning staff retreats
- Facilitating focus groups
- Designing mission statements
- Building staff morale
- Coaching
- Improving an employee’s job performance problem
Customized Workshops
Sometimes a consultation may reveal the need for a customized program. Or your department or work group may have a specific professional development or job performance need. We can help you plan a workshop tailored to meet that need. Benefits of a customized program include an opportunity to:
- focus on a specific skill area, topic, or issue
- meet a convenient time, place, and location
- create an environment for problem solving and working toward common goals
- build staff morale
As appropriate, we collaborate with other Human Resources Department units; and, as necessary, external training consultants may also be used. Some of our more frequent requests for customized programs are:
- Customer service
- Diversity
- Team building
- Ignatian tradition/spirituality
- Interpersonal communication skills
- Coping with change
- Stress management
- Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI)
- Performance management process
