Cap and Gown
Caps and gowns may be ordered online or in person but must be picked up before the day of the Ceremony.
The rental price for caps and gowns are as follows:
- Deluxe BC Doctor—$45.00
Students need their Boston College ID and height. Doctoral candidates will also need their hat size. Bachelor and Master graduates may keep their hood and tassel. Certificate and Doctoral graduates may keep the tassel only.
If you order and pay for your regalia online, you will need to come to Conte Forum on the days and times listed below to pick them up, as well as to obtain your rain location tickets. Ordering online will save time and minimize wait times when you arrive at Conte Forum. To order online, visit www.MyGraduationStore.com. The deadline to order online is May 2, 2014. Students ordering doctoral robes may use this link. The deadline to order doctoral robes is May 9, 2014.
Ordering In Person
If you choose to order in person, please visit the Cap and Gown Headquarters in Conte Forum at the days and times listed below. You will be able to place your order, make payment, and pick up your regalia and rain location tickets.
Picking Up Your Cap and Gown
Cap and Gown Headquarters will be in Conte Forum on the lower level near the Visitor's Locker rooms. Enter through the Conte Circle/Beacon Street side entrance with the red awning. The Cap and Gown Headquarters will be open on the following days:
- Wednesday, May 14, from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m.
- Thursday, May 15, from 12 noon until 7:00 p.m.
- Friday, May 16, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
Cap and gown distribution will NOT be available on Saturday and Sunday.
Emergency pick-up on Monday, May 19, 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Merkert Chemistry Center, Room 129.
Returning Your Cap and Gown
The rental outfit must be returned no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19. There will be a charge of $35 for outfits returned incomplete or without the appropriate receipt. Representatives of University Cap & Gown will be collecting rented academic regalia at the main entrance of St. Ignatius Church; between Robsham Theater and Corcoran Commons; McElroy Commons—Beacon Street Entrance; Bapst Library; Alumni Stadium Gate E near Shea Field Entrance; Conte Forum, Gates B and C, concourse level; and 2101 Commonwealth Avenue on the Brighton Campus. Next day returns must be made at Heffernan House, 110 College Road.
