AHANA Reception: Networking and Community
Thursday, September 20, 2012
1-2:30pm in the Murray Room, Yawkey
The AHANA Reception is an event that was designed to provide a more informal setting where employers and AHANA students can meet. Employers want to talk in depth about diversity career programs and also opportunities for both internships and full time opportunities.
Programs and Resources for Diversity
Have Questions! Not only are employers interested in students of all majors, but they’re eager to answer questions about:
- Leadership Development Programs
- Professional Development and Training
- Networking Events and Affinity Groups
Know Who Will Be There
Along with AHANA Faculty and Staff in attendance, you’ll receive a handout when you arrive with a list of employers and their table numbers. However, review the list of employers in EagleLink to see who you’d like to speak with.
Assess and Dress to Impress
Think about what kind of job or internship you’re looking for and how to prepare your resume for that position. Knowing what you want and how to present yourself is important when you speak with employers. For clothing, think polished. Think neat. *For student athletes, it’s understood that with schedules and games this can be difficult, just make sure they know why you’re in shorts and t-shirts! If you have the time to dress professionally before hand, we strongly encourage it.
