Externship Program

An externship or job-shadowing experience generally lasts one to five days in duration.  It will provide students the opportunity to gain an understanding of a career or industry in a focused and informative setting and observe professionals in their work environments.  It also encourages students, alumni and organizations to forge strong and valuable connections in a shared experience.  The Externship Program is not for academic credit and students are not compensated, but the experience will be greatly beneficial to both the students and sponsors.

If you would like to participate, click here for more information.

If you have questions about the program, please contact the Boston College Career Center at (617) 552-3430 or externship@bc.edu.

Please note:  Externship dates/application will be updated in the late fall to reflect the 2009 winter externship experience.  We are looking for externship sponsors in NYC and Boston.

Inquire about recruiting on campus

On-campus recruiting is conducted from October through April. The Recruiting Office will publicize your career opportunity, electronically forward students' resumes, and coordinate campus interview schedules. Employers pre-screen resumes, which they receive about three weeks before the interview date, and pre-select the candidates to be interviewed.

eRecruitingnetwork.com provides direct employer access to our online recruiting system.

Off-campus recruiting is an option if you choose to hold interviews at your organization's site. The Recruiting Office will publicize your career opportunity and electronically forward students' resumes. Employers may select candidates and follow up with students directly.

Please call 617-552-4769 or e-mail employer.recruiting@bc.edu to discuss the recruiting program.
