What is Operation Identification?

Operation Identification is a burglary/theft prevention program. The Operation ID program involves engraving property with an identifying number, such as a license as a means of discouraging burglary and theft.

It also provides police with a way to identify property should it be stolen and recovered.

Mark These Possessions:

These items listed below are the most commonly stolen items from residences, businesses, cars or public areas.

• Laptop Computers

• GPS

• Digital Cameras

• Camcorder or video recording devices

• DVD / Blue Ray Players

• Golf clubs and equipment

• Guitars and musical equipment

• Stereo Equipment

• Cellular Phones

• Anything else you feel is valuable should be marked

The Boston College Police Department offers this program through the
Adopt-a-Cop/Community Liaison Officer Program
twice during each academic year.

The months of September and January/February have been designated as months this service is offered.
