Appointed Director of Public Safety and Chief of Police for the Boston College Police Department in August of 2010. Director King has 36 years of experience in campus public safety and law enforcement, coupled with his strong commitment to community policing and its supportive role in student formation. He is a graduate of Northeastern University, with a bachelor’s degree in law enforcement, a master’s degree in public administration and earned a graduate certificate in Emergency Planning and Management from Boston University. He received his police training at the Massachusetts State Police Academy and the Boston Police Department Regional Recruit Academy. He is the past president of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators and of the Massachusetts Association of College and University Public Safety Directors.
