Admission and Financial Aid
Applying to Boston College
Diversity is a hallmark of the Boston College community and we seek the brightest and most talented students to help us achieve this goal. While the admission process at Boston College is highly competitive, the application review is thorough and personal. Each year, in selecting a class of 2,250 freshmen, we consider your course selection and performance in high school; standardized tests; extracurricular activities, community service and/or work experience; guidance counselor and teacher recommendations; and writing samples, which reflect your voice in the application. We strive to ensure that each student is reviewed thoroughly and fairly within the applicant pool and encourage students to educate themselves about the full admission process.

Boston College admits students solely on the strength of their academic and personal accomplishments. An application for financial aid does not influence the admission decision. The University is committed to meeting the full demonstrated need of every student during all four years of undergraduate study. Students interested in applying for financial aid should complete the required forms and submit the appropriate documents by the priority deadlines as listed on the Web site. Each year, the University selects 15 incoming freshmen as Presidential Scholars, who are awarded full-tuition merit scholarships and participate in funded summer programs annually.
