Lynch School Faculty Selected as 2013 AERA Fellows
The American Education Research Association (AERA) has selected two Lynch School of Education faculty members to be AERA Fellows. Monan University Professor Philip G. Altbach and Professor Larry Ludlow are among 23 scholars nationwide who were selected this year in recognition of their exceptional scientific or scholarly contributions to education research or significant contributions to the field through the development of research opportunities and settings.
At the Forefront of International Higher Education
The Boston College Center for International Higher Education hosted a symposium, "At the Forefront of International Higher Education," on April 5, 2013 at Boston College. Leading experts on international and comparative higher education gathered from around the world to discuss current developments and possible future trends across the global higher education landscape.

Homily: 'Move From Surreality Back to Reality'
“During this surreal week, we have seen horror, we have felt the fear, and we have lost our collective innocence. But, and this is so crucial and I cannot emphasize it enough, we have seen good shepherds in our midst.” Lynch School Professor Joseph O’Keefe, S.J. reflected on the surreality of the Boston Marathon bombing in his homily at St. Ignatius Church on Sunday, April 21.
