Faculty & Administration

boston college law school

What sort of people make up the BC Law faculty?

Authors of casebooks--in tax, environmental law, and civil procedure, to name a few--and other major academic books. Authors of articles too numerous to count, published in the country's leading law reviews. Twelve members of the American Law Institute, the nation's premier law reform organization. The Special Advisor to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development. The Reporter to the Committee on Rules of Practice and Procedure for the Judicial Conference of the United States. The president of the Legal Writing Institute. The chief of occupational and environmental medicine at Massachusetts General Hospital and at Brigham and Women's Hospital. A former chair of the American Association of Law Schools (AALS), a former chief justice of the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court and a former chair of the Massachusetts State Ethics Commission.

We could go on. But the most important point to make about our faculty is that as teachers they consistently receive some of the highest evaluations university-wide. Although they are accomplished scholars, their primary mission is to mentor and teach our students, and they do it well. Take a moment to browse through these pages, and we think you'll agree: there is no finer collection of professors of law in the world.
