GSSW Writing Tutors
Please note that writing tutor services are available during the academic year only.
All GSSW students have been enrolled in the Writing Tutors Blackboard site. The site is listed along with your other course sites for this semester. Visit the Writing Tutors Blackboard site for the calendar of available appointments as well as resources on writing, APA format, and RefWorks.
What kind of assistance can I expect from the GSSW Writing Tutors?
Tutors will provide feedback on:
Conceptualization
Logical development of ideas
Organizational structure
Remember—tutors are NOT editors or proofreaders. They will give feedback about sentence structure, grammatical usage and APA style, but they will not make corrections. Each student is responsible for learning and using APA format appropriately.
When are the GSSW Writing Tutors available?

Online Submissions
Electronic submissions with a 48-hour-turnaround are limited to 8 pages/submission. To submit papers electronically send a message with an attachment to swtutors@bc.edu. Submissions will be processed Tuesday through Sunday twice a day: 7am and 5pm. Wait times for submissions received after a given process time will not begin until the subsequent processing time (e.g., if your paper arrives at 4:30 pm, it will not be processed--and your expected 48 hour waiting period will not begin--until 9:00 am the following day). Please plan accordingly.
You should expect to receive feedback within 48 hours for the first 8 pages of the paper. If you would like to meet with a tutor to discuss the comments, follow the procedures above for making an appointment.
