Boston College's Office of International Programs works closely with Irish Studies to offer study abroad programs at Irish universities in Dublin, Belfast, Cork, Maynooth and Galway. Students interested in information on the BC Study Abroad programs should contact the Office of International Programs (617-552-3827 or email firstname.lastname@example.org).
A&S students may study at NUI Galway either in the Fall, or for a Full Year only, and are required to successfully complete an Irish Studies course at Boston College prior to their departure. All BC students who attend University College Cork (UCC) in the Fall semester are required to participate in the Early Start Program at UCC; during the Spring semestetr students will take an Irish Studies course taught by the BC On-Site Coordinator there. Those students who participate in the Dublin area programs (Trinity College Dublin, University College Dublin, and NUI Maynooth) will take an Irish Studies class taught by the BC On-Site Coordinator in both Fall and Spring semesters. It is recommended that students accepted for study abroad in Ireland meet with BC Irish Studies faculty for advising and curriculum planning before registering for courses in Ireland.
Courses that meet the prerequisite requirement are marked wiith an asterisk (*) on the Irish Studies course listing page.
