The Young Journalists Program featured academic seminars with journalism experts and seasoned reporters and site visits to various media outlets, and included meetings in Boston with Professor Don Aucoin, Boston Globe Features writer and Boston College Department of Communications; Don Seiffert, Editor of The Newton TAB; Saul Williams, Boston Bureau Chief of The Metro Newspaper; Jessica Fils-Aime, Public Service Coordinator for WHDH Channel 7 News; and Catherine Wong, cross cultural consultant, among others.
While in New York City, they met with Niall O’Dowd, Editor and Founder of The Irish Voice and Irish America Magazine; Patricia Harty, Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Irish America Magazine; Conor O’Clery, North America Editor of The Irish Times; staff of “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart”; Jim Collins, Vice President for Corporate Communications of Sirius Satellite Radio, Inc.; Lisa McLaughlin, TIME Magazine reporter; Bob Sullivan, LIFE Magazine editor; and Rosanna Maietta, Media Relations Manager for Newsweek Magazine.
