The University Institute on Aging (IOA) was founded in 2008 by the Board of Trustees and falls under the direction of the Office of the Provost and Dean of Faculties.
The overall mission of the IOA is to foster education and research regarding spiritual, physical, social, financial and emotional dimensions of well-being of older adults and their families. A distinguishing characteristic of the Boston College Institute on Aging is its holistic approach to the challenges and opportunities of aging in the 21st Century.
