Artists Striving To End Poverty at Boston College (ASTEP@BC) is a chapter of the national ASTEP organization that uses the arts as a tool to empower young people with creativity, knowledge, and a strong sense of self-esteem, factors which help them advance their lives and communities. Boston College students, partnering with local nonprofit agencies, use their talents in the arts and performance to engage and empower local children in the performing and fine arts. In addition they serve to support the national ASTEP organization located in New York City where artists are provided with opportunities to connect with global youths, allowing them to use their gifts to create meaningful and effective change for at risk youths in the United States and abroad.
