Continuing the Journey

Testimonials

I just received an invitation to the BC Council for Women career event, and I just wanted you to know how much I enjoyed attending that event a few years ago. It really helped me get my act together for my career, and I am now working as a journalist for the Milton Times newspaper. It is the perfect job for me, with a lot of flexibility and just the right challenge.  I really feel that the BC career re-entry session you ran has much to do with me being able to re-launch my career, so thank you very much!

I went last year and thoroughly enjoyed the day I spent at BC. It really motivated me and within two months I found a wonderful permanent part time job as the Benefits Specialist at Mass Eye and Ear in Boston in my field. (I graduated from BC in 1986 with a BS from CSOM and I have a MBA from Bentley in Human Resources Management)…I think the resume piece was excellent because it's hard for women to get that together especially when there is a 10 year gap! I learned so much from the seminar as to how to fill that 10 year gap with good information (e.g. listing the meaningful volunteer work I did!)

Also the more people you tell you want to get back out there the better.....some friend or her husband may know someone ......even if you have an "informational" interview. And finally, if you ever have a chance to interview just take the opportunity......even if you feel the job is beneath you it may lead to another job in the company that may suit you better!
