Sue Warren Ramsey '91 returned to her alma mater in August 2008 to join the University Advancement team. She oversees all aspects of the Gift Planning program and works closely with donors, their advisors, staff, and University leadership to increase philanthropic support to the University through legacy gifts. Prior to joining BC, Sue worked at Massachusetts General Hospital for 14 years in gift planning, leading the hospital’s program for six years. She is a past board member and past president of the Planned Giving Group of New England. Sue received her BA from Boston College in 1991 and co-captained the women’s ice hockey team.

Lindsay Smith Kafka joined Boston College’s Gift Planning team in April 2011. Lindsay came to gift planning by way of her work as an estate planning lawyer. For six years prior to coming to BC, Lindsay had a solo law practice located in Concord, Mass., which was focused exclusively on estate planning, probate and trust administration, and charitable planning.  As a lawyer, Lindsay has worked extensively with philanthropically-minded clients. Earlier in her legal career, Lindsay practiced at the Boston firm of Hill & Barlow and served as a judicial law clerk for the Supreme Judicial Court of Maine. Lindsay is a lifelong resident of Concord and has worked on the boards of several community non–profits, including the Concord Carlisle Community Chest, the Concord Carlisle Scholarship Fund, and Concord Youth Theatre. Lindsay is a graduate of Stanford University, where she is active in their alumni volunteer outreach program, and she received her JD from Boston University.

Christine McAuliffe manages stewardship events and activities and the day-to-day operations of the Office of Gift Planning. Prior to joining Boston College in December 2010, Christine was marketing coordinator for Bostonian Group, a local benefits brokerage firm. Christine earned her bachelor’s degree in journalism and mass communication with a minor in political science from Saint Michael’s College in 2006, and is a supporter of the Purple Knights.

Thom came to BC from Dartmouth College, where he served as director of gift planning. Thom has spent his entire career working in or consulting with charities, primarily focusing on major and planned gift fundraising. Prior to joining Dartmouth, he was a relationship manager at Kaspick & Company, an investment firm specializing in charitable trusts and endowments. He has also served as vice president at PG Calc Incorporated, a development software company, and director of development relations at Harvard Business School. Thom has made presentations to regional and national conference audiences, and his articles have appeared in Planned Giving Today and the Journal of Gift Planning. He is a past president of the Planned Giving Group of New England and currently is the board chair of the Partnership for Philanthropic Planning and a board member of Polaris Project. Thom is a graduate of Harvard College.
