Matching Gifts

Many employers match the gift their employees make to Boston College. Please check with your employer to see if the company has a charitable contribution matching gifts program. If so, your gift may be doubled or tripled simply by completing a form that will be available from your employer.

Some common questions and answers about matching gifts:

What is a matching gift?

Under your company's matching gift program, gifts made to Boston College by eligible employees are matched with company or corporate foundation funds. As an example, your gift to Boston College of $500 can be matched with a corresponding gift from your company of $500-$1000, depending upon your company's match ratio. (Gifts must meet all company guidelines; rules vary from company to company.)

How do I know if my employer is a matching gift company?

Why should I match my gift?

You can more than double your gift, depending on your company's match ratio, yielding greater impact for your generosity. You can also ensure that your company's name will be included among the corporate supporters of Boston College.

How can I match gifts?

Contact your company's human resources department to determine your eligibility and obtain a matching gift form. Then complete your employer's matching gift form and mail, along with your gift, to Boston College.
