Robert D. Leblanc '71
Robert D. LeBlanc ’71 is a loyal Eagles fan with a long history of supporting the BC Athletics program. A season ticket holder for both football and ice hockey, LeBlanc made a commitment in 2003 to attend as many BC football games as possible—home and away—and has had a number of perfect seasons. Throughout his travels across the country, while LeBlanc fosters and reinforces relationships with other BC alumni, family, and friends, he also demonstrates invaluable leadership on the University’s behalf. In 1998, LeBlanc and his wife, Peggy, established the Robert J. LeBlanc Scholarship Fund in memory of his father. The scholarship provides assistance for a football student-athlete from the North Shore area of Massachusetts.
LeBlanc has also served his University as a member of his 35th Reunion Gift Committee, offering his time and talents to engage his fellow alumni to support the Boston College mission.
A graduate of the College of Arts and Sciences, LeBlanc received his bachelor’s in chemistry, summa cum laude. He went on to take graduate courses at Massachusetts Institute of Technology before entering the chemical and manufacturing industry. He retired in 2003 as president and CEO of Handy & Harman, a diversified global industrial company, and now serves as a director of Church & Dwight Co., Inc., and Joliet Equipment Corporation.
The LeBlancs have two daughters, Danielle and Chantal, who are attending college. The couple resides in Southport, N.C., with their dog, Hershey.
