Main Campus

140 Commonwealth Avenue

Most University departments are on the Main Campus. The Law School and Law Library are the main organizational units located on the Newton Campus. A few University offices have addresses at other satellite locations.

Browse the Department Directory to determine a department's building, room, and campus location. Most departments also have web sites that specify their mailing addresses. The easiest way to find an organizational web site is via the A-Z Index of the BC web site.

Campus Telephone Numbers

The main telephone number for the University is (617) 552-8000. However, the University uses a direct inward dialing system that allows you to call directly to departments and most individuals without operator assistance.

We encourage you to look up numbers for individual students, faculty, and staff in the Communications Directory. Office phone numbers can be found in the Department Directory. Departments' listings include detail entries from their faculty and staff and often include a general fax number. There is no general University fax number. You may also want to consult our Quick Phone & Email list.

Email Addresses

School & Department Email Addresses

There is no central University email address. Offices and organizations that have general email addresses ordinarily supply this information on their web sites.

We suggest you use the A-Z Index to locate the home page of the office you are interested in contacting. Some "group" email addresses for organizations can be found by doing a keyword search in the "mailgroups" listings of the Communications Directory. Use the pull-down menu to change the "Search in:" selection from "People" to "MailGroups". You may also want to consult our Quick Phone & Email list.

Student, Faculty, & Staff Email Addresses

To find the email address of an individual student, faculty member, or staff member, search the "People" listings in our Communications Directory. The general format of email addresses at Boston College is firstname.lastname.#@bc.edu, where # is a numeral used to make common first- and last-name combinations unique.

Alumni Directory

Boston College maintains a separate directory of contact information for our alumni who wish to share this information with one another. Access to the Alumni Directory is restricted to Boston College alumni who have registered through the Alumni Online Community.
