The ladies of Boston College would like to thank Head Coach Ken Daly for 30 years of continues commitment to the team. Ken is one of only two coaches at Boston College to win a national championship. His endless energy insprires the girls both on and off the field. Thank you Ken for being both a coach and a mentor showing us how to live up to the Boston College motto: "men and women for others."

Columbus Day weekend brought not only another win for the ladies of Boston College, but also brought alumni in droves. The pitch consisted of more mud than grass and the air was charged as a try was scored in the first five minutes. At the end of the first half, the score of the game was 29-0 Boston College. Tries were by a wide breadth of ruggers. Alia Verner flew past Southern Connecticut to complete three tries. Katie Balog and Erika Hernandez were successful with two tries. The third game of the fall season brought the first disappointment to the team. The game against Stonehill opened on a bright Sunday morning at St. John's Seminary. The ladies were rucking hard, running straight, and tackling well at the beginning of the game. Erika Hernandez scored the team's only try of the day.

During Boston College's parent's weekend, the ladies traveled down to Providence, Rhode Island to play Bryant University. The teams had never faced off before in a match and were unsure as to what the day would bring. The first half was slow with the ball going back and forth between each team's side of the field. Bryant was able to score a try before the first part of the game came to a close. Boston College started strong in the second half with a successful penalty kick by Erika Hernandez. Soon after, JoAnn Mathew completed a try to bring the score of the game 8-5. There were several other close try attempts, including one by Elissa Hernandez, but neither team was to see any more points on the scoreboard for the rest of the day.

The first game of the season kicked off this past weekend versus Wellesley. The Lady Eagles were psyched to play not only on their home turf, but also in the luxury of Alumni Stadium. The game kicked off at 10 AM. For the first part of the first half, the ball continued to go back and forth between the sides of the pitch as Boston College and Wellesley vied for possession. Approaching the second half of the first quarter, Jackie Durrant scored Boston College's first try of the season. A few minutes later, Jackie scored again off a lineout. Erika Hernandez also scored a try and completed two conversions to round out the score as a 19-0 victory over Wellesley. The Boston College Women's Rugby Team would like to thank all the fans and alumni who came to support and cheer us on!

The second game of the season scheduled for April 4 was cancelled due to poor field conditions. The ladies would like to apologize if this change inconveniences anyone's plans.

The first game of the season kicked off March 28th against University of Rhode Island. The ladies of Boston College arrived at the field early in the morning ready to play. The girls had been working extremely hard over the last two months on conditioning and game tactics. It was time to get outside and play some rugby after being inside due to the frigid Boston winter. Although, the ladies ran the ball well and played as a team, Saturday was not their day. Erika Hernandez once again displayed her talented kicking skills by earning three points in a penalty kick. The rookies played a spirited B-side game. Their tackles were impressive and they displayed no fear when running the ball. The B-side game ended in a tie.
