The 2012 Beast of the East Tournament marked BC's return to the
Division 1 bracket, resulting in tougher competition that previous
years. In the first game against Yale, the Eagles pulled out a solid
victory, overtaking the Ivy team 27 - 0. The next game was a
rematch of the previous weekend against UConn. In a hard-fought game,
BC came out on top with a 5 - 0 victory, avenging their previous loss.
On the second day of play, BC faced freezing rain and the worst field
conditions yet. Against Dartmouth, BC squeaked out a 3 - 0 win with a
kick by Addison Powell, advancing them to their second Beast
championship in as many years. Unfortunately, BC did not come out on
top as they did in 2011, losing in a Boston battle to Northeastern 5 -
0. They are nonetheless pleased with their performance in this year's
higher division, and look forward to reclaiming their title in 2013.
