BC QSLC History

The QSLC was formed in November 2001 by six freshmen who wanted to further understand their surroundings and to improve life on and around campus. Started primarily as a sub-committee on the Duchesne Residence Hall Council, the Committee’s first months were concerned with general student concerns on Newton Campus. As the Committee continued to meet with students, student groups, and administrators, the scope of their projects began to grow. Today, the Committee is made up of 40 active members and over 150 general members. We draw from all four grades including students living on and off campus. As a non-political group, the QSLC’s goal is to act as an advocacy group for the students and as a vehicle for students to further define and create their own initiatives effectively and constructively.
