• Joel Cohen, Director of the Boston Camerata, presented a lecture-recital in Music and Poetry in Jewish, Christian, and Muslim Andalusia

• Excursion to the Middle East Restaurant in Cambridge for fine cuisine and cultural entertainment

• Boston premiere of "The Optimists" - the story of the rescue of the Bulgarian Jews from the Holocaust

• Dinner & a movie featuring West Beirut and fine Middle Eastern Cuisine

• Participation in several events hosted by the Boston Dialogue Foundation

• The running of a Ramadan Food Drive to benefit a food bank operated by a local mosque

• Salameh Nematt, the Washington Bureau Chief of Al-Hayat, International Arab Daily (London) and the LBC, the Lebanon-Based Arab Satellite Channel lectured as part of the Hope Not Hate series on the future of relations between the West and the Islamic world.

• MEISSA sponsored summer, educational & immerstion trip to Jordan

• Fundraising project to raise money for an orphanage in Tazakistan

• Franck Salameh, a BC faculty member, presented a lecture aimed at uncovering the Myth of Arab Nationalism

• Lucy Austin Nusseibeh, founding director of Middle East Nonviolence and Democracy (MEND), gave a lecture titled Palestinian Women and Non-Violence

• Sari Nusseibeh, Professor of Philosophy and President of al-Quds University, gave a lecture titled Palestine: Moral Questions

• Karim Kawar, Jordanian ambassador to the U.S. and Mexico, gave MEISSA's inaugural speech
