Wow. BC Law pulled out all the stops this year, and saw a record number of students on the marathon course. We had a large group forming a "Running of the Bulls" pack,
and our ranks also contained speedy qualifiers, inspiring charity runners, incoming 1L's, former students, and even the mother's of two students!!! To see the movie click here (Right click to download)
Congratulations go to: Josh Alexander, Timothy Fitzgibbon (and his mother), Sean Phelan, Joe Russell, Scott Kleekamp, Sean Glasheen, Simon Burce, Daniel Parames, Guillaume Buell,
Brian Atherton, William Appleyard, Jon Fishburn, Jared Belliveau, William Keefe, Emily Twiss, Erin Anderson (and her mother), Tommy Fears, Stacey Doynow, Elizabeth Chew, Katie Spencer, Pat Moore, Johanna Sullivan,
Kristen Greenbaum, 2006 BC Law Running Club alumni Frank White and Ben Speiss and our "honorary" bandit from BU, Lauren Lambert for finishing the 26.2 mile course! Congrats also go to Vincent Gonzales, Ruchard Schuessler, Siobhan Beasley, Greg Epler, Steve van Dyke and Lindsay Newall for
jumping in an lending much needed support in our final miles!
Despite the wind and the rain, the weather was much better than predicted, the fans were incredible, and once again, the Red Sox won! It makes one wonder how next year could possbily top this!
And special thanks to Pat Hurley for volunteering to get up at 6AM and offer rides out to the starting line. The Running Club never would have been
able to take this many people on our marathon journey without Pat,
the rest of this year's incredible supportive LSA board. Also, many thanks to everyone in the Dean's Office for embracing and supporting running as an integral part of the BC Law student experience.

Dear BC law student -Potential Marathon Runner,
You're probably asking yourself at least two questions right now ( according to Scott Kleekamp): "Can I do it?" and
"Should I do it?" From my perspective the answers are, respectively, "Yes, you can do it" but "No, you probably
shouldn't run 6 miles in a mini skirt and pink rainboots... because you SHOULD just run the entire marathon (preferably in sneakers).
At least that's what I'm planning on doing.
Love,
The girl who wore a denim skirt and pink rainboots for the last 6 miles of the marathon ~ Siobhan

Scott Kleekamp (4th Boston Marathon)
We had a very different approach to marathon training this year. Instead of only running, we did "multisport" workouts as well.
Despite the fact that none of us started the year as very good swimmers, and most of us didn't even own a bike,
twice a week, we'd start in the pool, then we'd spin with the BC Cycling team, and only after we did all that would we run. We kept the intesnity very moderate, and as
a result, everyone who did that built a huge aerobic base. We were basically doing an olympic distance triathlon twice a week. It never felt like we were working all that hard,
and due to the aerobic gains we were making in the pool and on the spin bikes, we were able to drastically cut our running mileage -
only needing to run to work on form and build leg strength. Just as with last year, everyone who started the Boston Marathon finished it, and I can't wait to see what next year brings!

This is what you feel like when you finish a marathon.

Ask Frank White what's better than being the fastest BC Law person, and running a 2:50 personal best in the Boston Marathon, and he'll tell you getting to hold his daughter at the finish...
