Who says a busy law school student can't train for their first (or tenth) marathon? BC had 12 runners participate in this year's marathon.
2006 was also the inaugural Boston Marathon for the BC Law Running Club.
Congratulations go to: Mandi Arquilla, Vincent Gonzales, Dan Parames, Steven van Dyke, Jonathan Fishburn, Peter McCarthy, Darcy Wiecks, Rebecca Livermore, Nicholas Geller, Scott Kleekamp, Jason Radford, and Frank White for finishing the 26.2 mile course! The weather was perfect, the fans were awesome, and the Red Sox won in the bottom of the 9th with a 2 run walk-off homer...what could be better?!?

Scott Kleekamp (3rd Boston Marathon)
I got a chance to train with some great people at BC Law, and had an amazing time seeing many of them run Boston for their first time.
I'll never forget those 4 hours that we spent on the course that day - looking around and seeing all the fans cheer us on, hearing the
constant "Go BC!" screams, and watching Dan make the fans go crazy!
I couldn't believe how strong we ran the whole way - our stride never broke down, we never had to walk,
and our legs never hit that dreaded "wall". I think was a tribute to just how much fun we had, and how supportive our BC classmates were.
I'll never forget BOSTON'06, and I can't wait until next year!!!

Steven van Dyke (1st Boston Marathon)
As we crossed the start line you could feel the energy in the air. The crowd was going crazy and all the runners were packed in tight as
they confronted the sensory overload of cheering crowds and the daunting task ahead of them. No one drank in the crowd more than Dan and I
think he ran 3 miles to our first two due to zigzagging and high-fiving on each side of the course. The miles began to fly by and I was constantly
reinvigorated by someone here or there shouting my name. In fact I was overwhelmed and didn’t know how to react so I would just look at them and say,
“Thank you!” I was so impressed with how engaged the crowd was and how supportive they were of random strangers.

Daniel Parames (1st Boston Marathon)
The first 10 miles went by really quickly, the whole time I was looking to the 15 mile mark;
it represented the farthest I knew I could go. But before 15 came, Wellesley came. The place went nuts!
The fans pumped me up and somehow 15 miles came before I knew it. I didn’t even realize I passed 15 miles.
I was then in uncharted territory. My teammates gave me great support and we had a great time running and running and running.
When we hit BC, the place went bananas and the adrenaline kicked in again. Students, alumni, little kids, and anybody with a pair of lungs were
cheering and yelling for us to keep going on.
