Dear Club Golfers,
I wanted to thank you all for your participation and efforts this past season. Without question, the 2007-2008 Boston College Club Golf season has been the most productive yet, and I am sure we will only improve over the next few seasons. This year we were able to
(1) host two recreational golf tournaments at Newton-Commonwealth Golf Course (thank you to Rob Santoro for organizing these),
(2) negotiate a pre-paid pass at Newton-Commonwealth for Club Golf Members,
(3) take second place in the Fall NCCGA New England regional and qualify for Nationals,
(4) practice during the winter in the Alumni Stadium Bubble,
(5) host and win the Spring NCCGA New England regional and qualify for Nationals, and
(6) travel to Providence Forge, VA to participate in the 2008 NCCGA National Championships.
We should be incredibly proud of our accomplishments, but we also need to be ready to adapt and improve our club in the upcoming seasons. Unfortunately, as of this past May, the NCCGA has decided to go back to its original makeup of teams from Georgia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. This means that our team, as well as all of those north of Virgina, no longer have an official league. The decision was based on a lack of participation from Northern schools. There are clearly plenty of teams in the North who want to play, but there is currently a lack of organization and communication between these teams.
I would sincerely appreciate your help in trying to plan out our course of action for the next few seasons. Please take a few minutes to fill out the following survey as honestly and completely as possible. I will review your answers with the other officers to try to re-organize and plan out the 2008-2009 season.
Thank you for your help. It is much appreciated. Be sure to email golf@bc.edu if you have any trouble with the form below.
Sincerely,
Ben
