Submission Guidelines

General
Epicenters publishes two issues per year. We accept queries and submissions year round. While we make no restrictions as to theme/school/style, maliciously obscene or offensive material will not be considered. Please do not send work more than twice in a given submissions period. Submissions in multiple genres are acceptable. All submissions must be the original work of the sender and previously unpublished. With regard to work which is unpublished but will be forthcoming in a collection or book, please query first. All rights revert to the artist upon publication. We only ask that Epicenters be cited in your work’s future manifestations. We will respond to all submissions within two months after the deadline.

Music
Please query about music submissions before sending work. Queries may be sent to epicenters@gmail.com.

Poetry
Poems should be single-spaced, no longer than two hundred lines, and carefully proofread. Submit up to five poems at a time to epicenters@gmail.com. Poetry Submission should appear in the subject line. Include works in an attachment to ensure proper formatting. For multiple-page poem attachments, please clearly indicate stanza break or no stanza break between pages.

Fiction/Creative Non-Fiction
Prose should be double-spaced and no longer than seven thousand words. Please send no more than three stories per submission. Mark scene/section breaks clearly to avoid confusion. Send work as an email attachment to epicenters@gmail.com. Indicate in the body of your email whether the piece is a work of fiction or non-fiction. With non-fiction, please bear in mind that Epicenters is not a research journal.
