Grits Minus One
Patrick Cronin (Organ, Piano, Toy Piano) was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, where he spent the first eighteen years of his life. He started playing classical piano in the second grade. Professor Longhair and Paul Desmond convinced him that he should learn to improvise. He spent his senior year at Boston College (2007) writing a thesis on the philosophy of music, concentrating on the potential for music to produce revolutionary effects. He attended the School for Improvisational Music summer intensive workshop in Brooklyn. Now, he is something of a nomad, playing music and moving between Boston, Louisiana, and New York.
