Submit an Essay
We welcome your submission and look forward to reading your essay. The deadline for the next issue is November 3, 2007. Please refer to the submission guidelines below before sending your work. The essay should be saved as a Microsoft Word document and attached to an email sent to dialogue@bc.edu.
- All essays must be submitted as a Microsoft Word document, double-spaced. The file should be named by the title of the essay (i.e. Your_Title.doc) and sent as an attachment to dialogue@bc.edu.
- Please include in the body of the email your name, Eagle ID number, Boston College email address, the name of your essay and which section you are submitting to: Social Sciences, Philosophy/Theology, Natural Sciences, or Literature/Arts.
- Please head each page with your Eagle ID and number all pages. Your name should not appear on any page of the essay itself.
- Essays should be between 500 and 2500 words in length.
- Due to the specific style of the journal, citations should be kept to a minimum, but when used should be complete with page numbers. Please also include a full bibliography.
- Papers need not be written solely or specifically for Dialogue. Work done for past or current classes is certainly welcome, but please be aware of the nature of the journal and, if necessary, be willing to modify accordingly. We also encourage essays written in response to another author's work from a past issue.
- To ensure the validity of the work, authors whose essays are chosen for the journal will be required to sign a waiver confirming their authorship and authorizing the publication of the work.
