Join Our Executive Board!

President: (must have been on the executive board for a year prior to running for this position):

-oversees the organization
-delegates duties to individual offices and makes definite job descriptions -announces emergency board meetings -meets with ODSD advisor and the BLSA advisor on a regualar basis -authorizes the use of BLSA in any type of publications or media -attends and creates BLSA fall and spring training -prepares an agenda for executive board meetings -attends ODSD club officer training -attends executive board weekly meetingsE-Board members

Vice-President: (must have been on the executive board for a year prior to running for this position):

-serves as AHANA Caucus Rep
-maintains an open line of communication between various AHANA organizations in the community -meets once a week with the president to discuss preparations for upcoming events -attends meetings sponsored by ODSD including the club officer's orientation -keeps in contact with the club advisor -prepares supporting agenda for the executive and general meetings -attends and creates BLSA fall and spring training -attends executive board weekly meetings

Secretary:

-assists the president in clerical duties -plans and research needs, wants, and constraint of BLSA and its members -types letters and reports -keeps a log of dates for meetings and other appointments -maintains an updated list of members and students who attend the meetings on a regular basis -responsible for mail and email accounts -types minutes at every meeting -types minutes and distributes to the advisor -keeps files in order -is in charge of list serves and all emails sent out to the general public -attends ODSD club officer training -attends BLSA spring and fall training -attends executive board weekly meetings

Treasurer:

-monitors funds
-reports whether or not there are sufficient funds for events being sponsored -keeps financial records up to date -handles purchase orders and all financial documents -remains in contact with the President about funds all the time -assists the president in budgeting funds for the year -responsible for making adequate financial reports: both oral and written -attends ODSD club officer training -remains in close contact with the ODSD budget manager -attends BLSA fall and spring training -attends executive board weekly meetings

Publicity:

-publicizes for all events that BLSA will be hosting or are associated with.
-makes fliers, posters, and any other form of publication devices necessary for spreading information
-attends BLSA fall and spring training
-attends ODSD club officer training
-attends executive board weekly meetings

Northeastern Representative:

-attends BLSA fall and spring training
-attends ODSD club officer training
-hosts 2 law student panels per semester
-hosts a general meeting
-attends executive board weekly meetings
-maintains  regular contact with NBLSA chapters at law schools in New -England

Cabinet Positions:

Sophmore Representative:

-attends fall and spring BLSA training
-attends ODSD club officer training
-creates 2 events per semester relevant to the sophmore class
-must attend the first executive board meeting of each month
-hosts a general meeting

Community Service Coordinator:

-attends BLSA fall and spring training
-attends ODSD club officer training
-must attend the first executive board meeting of each month
-hosts 3 community service activities for the organization per semester
-hosts a general meeting

Junior Representative:

-attends BLSA fall and spring training
-attends ODSD club officer training
-relates the needs and wants of the junior class to the executive board
-creates 2 events per semester pertinent to the junior classs
-must attend the first executive board meeting of each month
-hosts a general meeting

Senior Representative:

-attends BLSA fall and spring training
-attends ODSD club officer training
-relates the needs and wants of the senior class to the executive board
-must attend the first executive board meeting of each month
-hosts a general meeting
-creates 2 events per semester relevant to the senior class

Mentoring Program Coordinator:

-pairs up undergrads with BC law students
-works closely with the BC law NBLSA mentoring coordinator
-must attend the first executive board meeting of every month
-hosts a general meeting
-hosts a mentor/mentee event twice a semester
-maintains regular contact with mentors/mentees
