Freshman Academy

Created in 2004, Freshman Academy has been constantly modified and improved. There are two ways into Freshman Academy (FA)
1. Anyone who is a Freshman Representative for one of the Asian organizations automatically is committed into becoming a member of Freshman Academy.
2. Anyone who applies and is accepted becomes a member of Freshman Academy. There is usually a form or an interview that a candidate must complete in order to become a Freshman Academy Representatives.
Freshman Academy meets on a biweekly basis. During those meetings, Freshman Academy Representatives gains the opportunity to build a network of connections among their classes' peers as well as with the upperclassmen who attend the meetings. They also learn about various Asian American issues such as Asians representation in the media, the struggles Asians faces through racism, and many more. Freshman Academy is supervised by the Freshmen Outreach Program Director. Freshman Academy is also expected to learn how events and eboards are ran in order to prepare them for the Final Project in the Spring Semester.
Past Final Projects have included events such as IRON CHEF where Freshman Academy used their organization and networking skills in order to attract crowds of 150+ into observing a cooking competition between the 7 Asian Culture Clubs and APAHM.
