Asian American Advocacy

Started in the Spring of 2008 by Monica Guen and Feiyang Chan, the Advocacy became a huge movement of students rallying at O'Neil Plaza. During the annual APAHM festival, students were petitioning and collecting signatures from students and faculity. They were doing this because they realized that only 2 Asian American Classes were being offered for the Fall 2008 school year. These students knew that the administrators at Boston College needed to start paying attention to the largest AHANA group's needs. Luckily, the petitioners' words did not fall on deaf ears; together the students collected over 2,000 signatures! With these signatures, Asian Caucus has already started talking to Deans and continues to advocate for more Asian American classes and full time faculty professors.
