Asian Pacific-Islander/American Community Awareness Retreat
APACAR is about bringing the old and new leaders of all seven culture clubs and Asian Caucus to reflect on the past year. The old leaders examine how much they have accomplished in their careers at BC and they instruct new leaders with advice on how to approach the upcoming year. The old leaders are also able to express the kinds of mistakes they have made and how the new leaders can avoid them.
APACAR has been a tradition of AC unity to bring all these leaders together. Not to be confused with APACLAR, which is more of a leadership workshop, this is a retreat about reflection and inspiring and infusing passion in new leaders to continue the legacy that their outgoing seniors are leaving behind.
Not only do we get the wise advice from the seniors, but the day also offers insight from guess speakers such as Professors from BC and JD Hokoyama who is President & CEO of LEAP INc (Leadership Education for Asian Pacifics). Each speaker gave his 2 cents on how to become a better leader and inspired everyone to strive for a better year.
Even though the 2 day retreat is crammed with many educational lessons, there's always some free time for relaxing and having fun!
