As part of their orientation to the Presidential Scholars Program and to Boston College freshman Scholars participate in a weekend long Outward Bound Program on Thompson Island in Boston Harbor. The program challenges students physically while fostering friendships, community and leadership skills among the Scholars. Scholars learn to both work together as a group and individually to solve problems and meet a variety of outdoor challenges over the weekend. Scholars learn about themselves and one another, gain confidence and begin to develop goals for the academic year.
