Fair Trade
In 2005, the Boston College Neighborhood Center partnered with the Volunteer & Service Learning Center at Boston College to establish the Fair Trade Holiday Sale. The annual event is a collaborative effort sponsored by the Neighborhood Center, Volunteer & Service Learning Center and BC Dining, and supported by concerned administrators, faculty and students at Boston College, that seeks to spread awareness of and access to fairly traded goods and crafts on our campus. The Holiday Sale is promoted campus-wide as an alternative to commercial holiday shopping. All profits benefit two school scholarship funds for children in Nicaragua and El Salvador.
Check out the video the Boston College Chronicle created about the Boston College Fair Trade Holiday Sale.
