FROM POINTS NORTH AND SOUTH: Take Interstate 95 (Route 128) to Exit 24 (Route 30). Proceed east on Route 30, also known as Commonwealth Avenue, and follow for about five miles. Turn right on Hammond Street, and follow for about .5 miles through the intersection with Beacon Street. Connolly House is a large blue/gray mansion on the left.
FROM POINTS WEST: Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90) to Exit 17. At the first set of lights after the exit ramp, take a right onto Centre Street. Follow Centre Street to the fourth set of lights, and turn left onto Commonwealth Avenue. Follow Commonwealth Avenue 1-1/2. Turn right on Hammond Street, and follow for about .5 miles through the intersection with Beacon Street. Connolly House is a large blue/gray mansion on the left.
FROM DOWNTOWN BOSTON: Take the Massachusetts Turnpike (Route 90) to Exit 17. Take a left over the bridge after passing the Sheraton Tara Hotel. Take the first right onto Centre Street. Follow above directions from Centre Street.
PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION:
Green "C"Line: Take the "Cleveland Circle" branch of the MBTA's Green Line to the end of the line. Walk up the hill past the Dunkin' Donuts on the corner. The Boston College Shuttle stops at the bus turnaround. Ask for the McElroy stop.
Green "D" Line: Take the "Riverside" branch of the MBTA's Green Line. Exit train at Reservoir. The Boston College Shuttle picks up outside the station. Ask for the McElroy stop. If you don't mind a short walk, take the D line one more stop to Chestnut Hill. Walk out of the station's parking lot and turn right on Hammond Street. Connolly House is about a 10 minute walk from the station.
