The Irish Institute is pleased to announce that it has hosted, in cooperation with the Business Institute at Ulster University and Irish Times Training, the international component of the 2005 University of Ulster’s MSc in Executive Leadership Program, which took place in Boston, April 23 - 30, 2005. This program brought together twenty senior executives from Ireland and Northern Ireland for a series of interactive seminars with distinguished faculty, roundtable discussions with industry leaders, and site visits to innovative and groundbreaking organizations in the Boston area.
Since 2000, the Irish Institute has worked closely with the University of Ulster to offer an international component to many of its executive Master’s programs. The 2005 Executive Leadership Program built on the success of previous programs, exposing participants to best practice models in the U.S. and providing them with international networking links.While in Boston, the participants attended graduate-level seminars led by Professor M. Hossein Safizadeh, Professor John Gallaugher, Professor Gerald Smith, Professor Elliot Smith, and Professor Mike O’Leary, Boston College Carroll School of Management. Additionally, the group also had the opportunity to visit some of the most successful industry executives and organizations in the Boston area, including Mr. Larry O’Toole, Founder and CEO, Gentle Giant; Tom Rose, Assistant Vice President, Human Resources Development, and Janet Whitehouse, Vice President, Human Resources, Sun Life Financial; Nancy Harhut, Senior Vice President, and Mark Mylan, Senior Vice President of Strategy at Hill│Holiday; and staff of Biogen Idec, among others.
