Plenary address: Given by Professor Rob Colls, University of Leicester on ‘The English Prizefight: what it was and what it meant’. Professor Colls is the author of Identity of England (Oxford, 2002) and was recently the Mellon Visiting Professor in British Studies at Yale University.
Call for papers: The Conference organisers invite papers, twenty minutes in length, on any aspect of Irish (and comparative) sporting and leisure history. Please send a 250 word abstract of your paper, plus contact details, to Mike Cronin by 20 December 2007.
