Module VI: Sleep

bc talks aging

While changes to sleep patterns are a part of the normal aging process, disturbed sleep and waking up tired every day are not. Sleep has been linked to outcomes critical to patient safety and healing, and is an important part of patient-centered care. In a review of possible explanations for sleep pattern changes, and the results of poor or disturbed sleep, sleep disorders and practices for sleep improvement are explored. Of particular interest is sleep in the hospital setting. Using the PROMIS Sleep Disturbance and PROMIS Sleep-Related Impairment questionnaires, viewers are engaged in a discussion on evaluating sleep.
