university institute on aging
The IOA will bolster teaching by creating a coherent curriculum in aging studies. In particular, the Institute will spawn a new undergraduate minor in aging studies. The Institute will assist student formation that enables Boston College undergraduate and graduate students better address the challenges and exploit the opportunities presented by increased longevity and population aging.
An aging society also has implications for the composition of Boston College’s faculty in the future and the nature of undergraduate education itself. The IOA provides tenure track joint faculty appointments with duties in the Institute as well as in key academic departments on campus.
The Institute is pleased to offer Teaching, Advising and Mentoring Grants in Aging (TAMA). More information regarding TAMA »
