A MESSAGE FROM ASSOCIATE DEAN JEFFREY RINGUEST
knowledge Through Experience
Since beginning operations in the spring of 2002, the Center For Investment Research and Management (CIRM) has already made a major strong contribution to the educational experience available to students in the Carroll School of Management graduate programs.
CIRM’s mission is innovative yet straightforward: create a unique environment for students to develop a working knowledge of the many facets of professional asset management.
Unlike traditional curricula, our experiential approach to the investment process culminates with a "live-money" experience. Through a combination of classroom work and team projects, students build competency in such areas as back-office operations, compliance, sales and marketing, investment research, portfolio accounting systems and securities trading and settlement procedures.
We are delighted that a number of prominent financial institutions and benefactors have joined in our initiative. For Boston College, The Center affirms our commitment to solidify our position as one of the nation’s leading finance programs, enhancing career opportunities for our graduates.

Jeffrey Ringuest, Associate Dean
Carroll School of Management
