Boston College and the German Consulate General in Boston host a celebration of the countless students—including over 100 Fulbright Fellows—mentored by Professor Michael Resler over the past 30 years.

Professor Resler instills in his students a love of international learning and enthusiasm for the German language equalled only by his own. Under his mentorship, over 100 Boston College undergraduates became Fulbright Fellows and spent one year studying and teaching in Germany or Austria. Each of them was profoundly affected by their deepened understanding of the relationship between the United States and Germany.

On Saturday, panel discussions with Boston College Fulbright alumni and alumnae explore current issues in international careers and education. At dinner on Saturday evening, a keynote speech will be given by Rolf-Dieter Schnelle, President of the Association of Friends and Sponsors of the German-American Fulbright Program, and former Consul General of Germany in Boston (2002-2004). Consul General Rolf Schütte will present Prof. Resler with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, in recognition of his contribution to student exchange between Germany and the United States.
